Gábor Somonyi

Born: 1939, Budapest.

Specialized in decorative painting I graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in 1962. In 1965, I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts as well. My masters were György Z. Gács, Pál Miháltz and Lajos Szentiványi.

In 1962, I was invited to the Secondary School of Visual Arts to be the senior teacher of the painting department and I taught there until 1998. I live on the Art Colony of Százados Street in Budapesten. My study tours were spent in Libanon, Syria, Egypt, Greece, Italy and West Europe. My works can be found in the museums of Coburg and Groslittgen, Germany, and in English and American private collections.

I had individual shows in Budapest /1978 Helikon Gallery/ Kassel /1989/ Hofgeismar /1990/ Brüsszel /1999/ Himmerod /1999/ Újpest Gallery /2000/ Dunakeszi 2002 München, Orosháza, Deidesheim, Pataky Gallery Budapest 2003 Hévíz 2004 Szabadkígyós 2005 Sümeg, Milánó, Himmerod-Großlittgen.
